Welcome to Goldey-Beacom College. My name is Sierra and I'm so excited to show you around campus today. We are located about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia. With so much to do, we have the thriving city of Wilmington, and beautiful new work and Main Street right here. Our college was founded in 1886, and then moved to this 24 acre campus in the 1970s. Currently, we enroll more than 1800 students from 22 states, 65 countries and counting. We've grown consistently over the years. And that's highlighted by our brand new five story residence hall: fronto Hall. Additionally, we have also made many extensive renovations to our students center. Adding a new cafeteria, more places for our students to hang out in an expanded Athletic Center in a brand new event space. We'd love to welcome you to our exciting and diverse community. And over the next few minutes I hope to give you a better idea of what life at Goldey-Beacom college would be for you. This is the Fulmer center our main academic building where most of our classes are held. We have 26 classrooms and three computer labs designed to provide you with the tools you need to excel in your program. Our small class sizes allow you to build connections with your fellow classmates and professors. Our faculty do more than teach, they connect, and they enjoy investing in the lives of our students. at GBC, we believe that experience has helped to shape who our students are and what they will become when they leave. With that in mind. We schedule our classes Monday through Thursday with Friday off. This means more time to explore the area and get involved in some of the countless events, organizations and activities happening at and around the college. This is the Jones center, a newly renovated area designed for students to hang out and build community. In this building. You'll find our new cafeteria, areas to sit with your friends work, on the computer, visit the campus store, or go to the library in ARC. Our library and ARC contain 1000s of books as well as extensive online databases. The library also houses computers that students can use, study rooms and tutoring options. A big part of your college experience is Residence Life. We have five residence halls on campus that are designed in specifically located for our students to stay safe and build friendships. Fronto Hall is our new five story residence hall. It houses our security team and has lounges and areas for our students to hang out and feel safe on our campus. Surrounding Fronto Hall are Miller Jackson Leach and Abel Hall, which are apartment style halls that come with a living space and kitchen. All of our rooms on campus come equipped with a bed and desk and each hall has a laundry facility. Most upperclassmen live in Miller, Jackson, or Able Hall. These apartment style residence halls allow our students a space to study, hang out and use the full cook in kitchen. Our resident assistants are wonderful students. They facilitate our community planning events, manage floor meetings and help foster student organization. Back in the Jones Center is our newly renovated cafeteria where students will come to get a wide assortment of foods from vegan salads, to brick oven pizza, to barista made coffee. A short walk away is our Athletic Center. All students have access to the workout equipment. And of course our student athletes spend a lot of time here GBC athletics focuses on training our student athletes to be leaders through the platform of athletics. Here at GBC. We believe that every student should have access to affordable and quality education. We strive to give our students a full college experience that prepares them for what comes next in life. We are a family community that grows together academically and hosts lots of fun events throughout the year. Like Welcome Weekend, legacy week, student life trips, intramurals, and residence hall competition. We can't wait for you to experience life here at Goldey-Beacom College.
